At MHX Entertainment, sustainability is part of how we plan, travel, invest in equipment and deliver every event.
We provide professional DJ, sound and lighting services for weddings, corporate events and private celebrations across Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, London and the surrounding areas.
Our priority is always to create an unforgettable atmosphere. We simply believe that doing so responsibly should be part of the standard.
Smarter Travel
Where the event, distance and equipment load allow, we use an electric vehicle for travel.
For larger setups, we use a Euro 6 Ford Transit Custom, giving us the capacity needed to transport professional sound and lighting equipment safely and efficiently.
Every journey is carefully planned to reduce unnecessary mileage, avoid repeat trips and use the most efficient practical route.
Efficient Equipment
Our systems are designed to deliver maximum impact without unnecessary energy use.
We use energy-efficient professional sound equipment, LED and low-wattage lighting, rechargeable wireless lighting controls and appropriately sized systems for each venue.
Equipment is switched off when it is not required, and we avoid bringing more equipment than the event genuinely needs.
Equipment Built to Last
We place strong emphasis on maintenance, protection and longevity.
Our equipment is regularly checked, carefully stored and transported in protective covers, padded bags and dedicated cases. Where practical, we repair before replacing and consider high-quality used or refurbished equipment where it is safe and suitable.
Extending the life of our equipment helps reduce waste and unnecessary replacement.
Digital by Default
Our routine booking and event-planning process is fully digital.
We manage enquiries, quotations, contracts, invoices, music requests and event schedules electronically, helping to reduce unnecessary printing, paperwork and physical storage.
This creates a smoother experience for clients and venues, while keeping important information easy to access, update and share throughout the planning process.
Solar Energy
Our operating base benefits from rooftop solar panels and dedicated electric-vehicle charging facilities.
Where practical, available solar energy and smart charging support our vehicles, rechargeable equipment, event preparation and day-to-day business activity.
Any surplus solar electricity generated at our base is exported back to the grid, helping us make better use of the renewable energy produced on site.
Venue Partnerships
Sustainability also means being a reliable and responsible supplier.
We work closely with venues to follow access, setup, sound and operating requirements, while minimising disruption and maintaining the necessary insurance and safety documentation.
We value long-term partnerships with venues and suppliers that share our commitment to professionalism, transparency and continuous improvement.
Reducing Waste
We aim to prevent unnecessary waste through careful purchasing, responsible use and longer-lasting equipment.
Our working practices include rechargeable batteries, reusable storage materials and avoiding disposable products wherever practical. We maintain and repair equipment before considering replacement and keep batteries and electrical items out of general waste.
When equipment is no longer required, we look for suitable opportunities to recycle, sell, donate or repurpose it responsibly.
Measuring Our Impact
We measure our operational carbon impact to understand where emissions arise and identify practical opportunities for reduction.
Our current measured operational emissions are 0.122 tCO2e in total. We regularly review travel, energy use and everyday working practices to improve performance and strengthen the accuracy of future reporting.

Our 2030 Commitment
MHX Entertainment aims to reduce operational emissions by at least 15% by 2030, measured against our first complete 12-month baseline.
We plan to achieve this through increased use of electric transport, reduced unnecessary mileage, efficient equipment, responsible purchasing, equipment maintenance and continued paperless working.
Our priority is to reduce emissions directly before considering any verified offsetting.
